JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 22, 2012) — Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. announced today it will dispense Clopidogrel, the generic alternative to Plavix, in all of its nearly 400 in-store pharmacies. Winn-Dixie pharmacies offer Clopidogrel effective immediately.
Plavix® went off patent on May 17 paving the way for the less expensive generic alternative. Generic drugs routinely sell for less than 50 percent of the branded price.
